ABA— National Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Martin Agbaso, has accused Anambra State government of allegedly meddling in the party’s affairs and trying to intimidate the judiciary into reinstating Dr. Victor Oye, who was sacked by National Working Committee, NWC, of the party.

In a statement signed by Acting National Publicity Secretary, Nnanna Ukaegbu, Agbaso cautioned the Chief Judge of Anambra State against working with the government to use the state judiciary to counter the order of mandamus as contained in the Enugu High Court judgment, from another court of concurrent jurisdiction, even as the matter is before the Court of Appeal, Enugu.

According to the statement, “the Anambra State government, in consort with Victor Oye, has been shopping for a judge of the state High Court to counter the order of mandamus as contained in the Enugu High Court judgment, a matter that is now properly entered before the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division, of which Oye had applied to be joined as a party.

“The continued meddling and ostensible use of the courts to foment trouble by the government of Anambra in a bid to prop up Victor Oye cannot work.

“APGA has alerted the National Judicial Council, NJC, and the security agencies. Given the suicide move by the perpetrators of this act, APGA  NWC sternly cautions both the Chief Judge of Anambra State and the government to pull back from the abyss and allow wise counsel to prevail.”

The party also stated that it had alerted the NJC and security agencies on the activities of some officials of the state government and judicial officers, who have become desperate in the APGA crisis to engage the state judiciary to destroy the party.
