Nigerian insurance operators are already eyeing Liberia insurance market for in their expansion drive to explore other African countries. Some insurance chieftains were seen discussing with Liberian Insurance Commissioner, Mr Joday Sesay.
Nigeria, Gambia, Ghana and Sierra-Leone had in 2007 led a team of insurance operators from those countries to Liberia with the mission to settle lingering crisis of strange insurance claims in Liberia.
Liberia was also said to owe West African Insurance Institute 14 years subven-tion to the institute. Mr Olusola Ladipo-Ajayi, chief executive of LASACO Assurance Plc, who led the team to Liberia, was accompanied by Dr Mike Ikupolati, Director-General of the West African Insurance Institute (WAII) represen-ting Nigeria.
