A NIGERIAN, in the person of Dr. Oladele  Ajayi has been named Managing Director designate, Heineken Hungary.
With this appointment,  Dr.  Ajayi  becomes the first African to manage a Central  European  operating  company  of  Heineken  as  part of the global Brewer’s policy of giving equal opportunities to employees worldwide.

Dr.  Ajayi, currently, Sales Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc will assume his  new position in the second half of August, 2010. |

He will report to the Managing Director Heineken Central Europe and is expected  to  bring  to  his  new  position  an  extensive  management  and leadership experience from over 21 years in Production, Sales and Marketing functions.
Ajayi  joined  Nigerian Breweries in 1989 as Trainee Brewer and rose to the position  of  Technological  Controller.

He  moved  to  Marketing as Brand Manager, Star and thereafter, proceeded on internationalization to Heineken Corporate  headquarters  in Amsterdam and later to Heineken Canary Islands, Spain as Country Manager.

Dr.  Ajayi  returned  to  Nigeria in 2004 to assume the position of Head of Customer  Service.
In  2005,  he joined the Board of Nigerian Breweries as Sales  Director.

During  his 5  year  tenure  as Sales Director, Nigerian Breweries  recorded significant growth in both volume and profitability.

He supervised  numerous change management initiatives that have contributed to the impressive growth witnessed by the company.

Dr.  Ajayi’s  appointment  further  reinforces  Heineken’s  focus on career development  and  its  global  approach  to  people  development  that  has guaranteed its business success across the world.
