Having gone through the 23-man list released by Super Eagles coach Lars Lagerback which excluded Ike Uche and Victor Anichebe, former Super Eagles midfielder Etim Esin said it is rather unfair for the Swede to drop the youngsters who could have exhibited their skills at the World Cup.
Etim, who was not satisfied with the list, said there is no difference between this team and that of former Super Eagles coach, Shaibu Amodu, as he argued that Lagerback should have given the duo the opportunity to exhibit their talents.
In a chat with Saturday Vanguard Sports, Esin, nicknamed Maradona in his playing days said it is rather painful to have dropped the players who are very skilful and willing to play for their fatherland.
“I do not like the idea of dropping players that are young and vibrant. It is not a good idea. He should have injected more of these players instead of dropping them. We need these players to add up to our World Cup plans. Well, since he is the boss, I think it is his decision. All what we need now is to support him and hope for the best,†he said
