CALABAR— PEOPLES Democratic Party, PDP, youths under the auspices of  Boki Youth Vanguard, have opposed the zoning of the chairmanship position in the area for the coming local government election in the state.

No fewer than 300 youths led by Mr Kenneth Bisong, embarked on a peaceful  protest, yesterday, to the PDP secretariat,  kicking against  the zoning of the chairmanship slot to Bunyia/Okubuchi Ward in Irruan clan in Boki Local Government Area by the Nchibe Bokyi, which they said was one sided.

“The Bunyia/Okubuchi Ward has produced a senator and a House of Representatives member, two former council chairmen and a former military administrator of Bayelsa State. So, they should not be allowed to take the slot because other  Boki wards have not benefited anything.”

The group maintained that the Nchibe Bokyi Association that did the zoning was not a political group, but rather, a socio-cultural group.
