ASABA—GOVERNOR Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, has charged the President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, to invest in the petro-chemical industry by taking advantage of the huge deposits of gas in the state.

Okowa, who gave the charge in Asaba during the commissioning of Chinedu & Sons ultra- modern office complex and Dangote Cement warehouse, said such investment would go a long way to provide jobs for the youths, which, according to him, will usher in enduring peace in the state.

Commissioning the complex which attracted dignitaries from across the country, including Alhaji Dangote, Okowa said: “Dangote is somebody you cannot wish away, especially for those of us who believe that the way out of the crisis in the country is to ensure that we generate jobs for the youths. I thank God that he has made a commitment to us here.

“But I am definite that he will do much more because I told him earlier that we are sitting on a lot of gas and he did not dispute that we have a lot of gas reserve. I know that gas is very important in the petro-chemical industry.”

Chairman of Chinedu & Sons Nigeria Limited, Mr. Chinedu Ezenyili, in chat with newsmen, said that the complex is capable of generating 200 direct jobs.

He said he was working closely with Dangote to bring down the price of cement.
