NPDC, House of Reps at loggerheads over oil spill

Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, NPDC, is on a collision course with the House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions over oil spillage in Ward 10, Ikara community of  Ikpoba-Okha Local Government  Area, Edo State.

NPDC, it was gathered, has refused to honour the invitations of the Public Petitions Committee of the House. This refusal dates back to the 7th Assembly.

Chairman of the Committee has frowned at an agency of government refusing to appear on the summons of the committee.

The petitioner,  Fredorosa Casolini Limited and the NPDC are billed to attend on March 29, 2017.

Also to attend are NOSDRA and other regulatory bodies. The committee has threatened to issue a bench warrant on the Managing Director if the NPDC fails to honour the invitation.
