NAFDAC shortens product registration period with e-NAF —DG

The Acting Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC,  Mrs. Yetunde Oluremi Oni weekend said the Agency has been able to shorten processes and procedures of product registration with introduction of e-NAF.

E-NAF is part of the Agency’s e-regulatory environment, which allows clients to comfortably start the process of registration of products from  their office or home. Addressing  the Indian Professionals  Forum, IPF, in Lagos, a body of Indians working and operating in Nigeria at a meeting tagged: “Creating an enabling e-Regulatory environment in NAFDAC – A panacea to ease of doing business”, Oni said: with the new process, the Agency can grant marketing authorisation within 90 – 120 days.

“We’ve reviewed our processes and ensured that we are creating an enabling e-regulatory environment. With e-NAF, also, we are turning up timely result of analysis and with Good Manufacturing Practice, GMP, inspection report satisfactory. We are able to review all documents and grant marketing authorization within 90 to 120 days,”

She said the new App, their office will be alerted  when a particular product will expire. “Once we get that alert and we write to the company to begin the process of registration so that there is no lacuna or   gap where your product expires and you don’t renew.” she said.

In his response, IPF Executive Committee Member, Kailash Kumar Gaggar,  said the topic was well presented with lots of valuable data/information about NAFDAC and the industry. “It truly reflects the forwardlooking approach of NAFDAC management team in re-engineering the internal systems for greater transparency and quicker delivery without compromising its vision and mission of NAFDAC. The members and guest greatly benefited from this interactive session and we would like more of such programmes in near future.”
