NYSC, CLTC moves to strengthen partnership

The National Youth Service Corps has assured of commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC) for the mutual benefit of both organizations.

The NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, gave the assurance when he received the Acting Director-General of the CLTC, Mr. Jonah Bitrus Bawa, who paid him a courtesy visit.

Kazaure noted that the CLTC is one of the critical stakeholders in the NYSC, especially with the role it plays during the induction of Corps members.

He stressed the need for the two organizations to work closely to achieve common goals while assuring that the doors of the Scheme are open to the CLTC.

He assured that the observations and requests made by his guest would be discussed by the Management with a view to taking appropriate decisions.

Earlier, Bawa, who took over as CLTC’s Acting Director-General two months ago, had expressed his determination to address some observed challenges in his agency’s working relationship with the NYSC Scheme.

The Acting DG requested the NYSC Management to grant usage of some Orientation camps across the country for CLTC trainings.

He noted that the Man O’ War gadgets in some NYSC camps needed to be upgraded; adding that his agency was ready to offer professional guidance on the procurement of standard ones.
