All is set for the annual Vanguard Personality of the Year awards scheduled to take place tonight in grand style at the Convention Centre of the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The occasion which is organized to recognise and honour eminent stakeholders from all walks of life, will be the cynosure of all attention as eminent personalities and people of affluence gather for a night of glory, glamour and glitz. Beyond the razzle-dazzle expected to be in full bloom, there will be musical and comedy interludes from some of the country’s best in the entertainment industry.

With the crop of entertainers lined up to thrill tonight, this year’s edition will go down as something special. Topping the list of entertainers ready to spice up the awards tonight are Sani Danja, Chidinma Ekile, aka Miss Kedike, as she is fondly called, fun mi lowo crooner, Aramide, Supreme Mavin Dynasty artiste, Esiri Sidney, popularly known as Dr. Sid, comic rave of the moment, Kennyblaq, and a host of other surprise performances for the night.

With Teju Babyface and the delectable TV personality, Zainab Balogun, as hosts, the night is sure going to be a roller-coaster ride of high octane excitement and exhilarating entertainment filled with fun, laughter, glamour and pleasurable moments. The live broadcast will capture every fascinating moment of the much-anticipated award of the year, including the red carpet moments, awards presentation, musical performances and comic renditions.

With the release of her latest single, Plenty Melody, and her track record of never failing to impress with her dexterous vocal power and impressive stagecraft, Chidinma will be showcasing her A-game on the stage tonight as she would be performing with a live band.

Known for his distinctive voice and unique musical style, Dr. Sid is prepped up to serenade the audience with his hit songs, Kabiyesi, Surulere, Baby Tornadoe, and more.

With the success of her recently released debut album titled Suitcase, and vocal prowess which earned her the award for Best Vocal Performance at the 2015 edition of the prestigious Headies awards, nothing short of an impressive musical performance is expected of afro-soul singer, Aramide, when she will be performing the likes of Fun mi lowo, Devil at my doorstep, Iwo Nikan and other beautiful tunes off her debut album to the listening pleasure of the audience. For those who love the feel that exudes from the vibes of northern music, multi-talented Kannywood actor and singer, Sani Danja, famous for his unique costumes and Indian song/dance routines, will sure live up to expectation as he is all set to dazzle with his Indian theatrics and unusual musical style which is rare on the Nigerian music scene.

Apart from the musical performances that will greet the awards night, fast-rising comic sensation, Kennyblaq, will be switching up the night’s fun with his popularly accepted unique style of comedy. The budding self acclaimed ‘Musicomedian’ will be cracking ribs beyond expectation. He is set to humorously shake the hall with thunderous laughter caused by his hilarious jokes which are usually a creative mixture of music and comedy.
