How we have been helping to address Nigeria’s ICT problems – Huawei

At the ongoing GSMA Mobile World holding in Barcelona, Spain, Huawei Technologies explained how it had been working with the Nigerian government and other mainstream mobile companies to develop the country”s ICT  plan.

Executive Director of the board and Chief Strategy Marketing Officer of Huawei, who disclosed this to journalists at a press conference in Barcelona, said Nigeria was a typical emerging market for mobile technology, adding that  Huawei   was  working in tandem with mainstream mobile operators as MTN in developing and managing apps and projects.

“Nigeria is a populist country with great potentials working with mainstream operators like MTN, Glo,  and others in developing  the ICT plan.

‘’We have partnered with local carriers, such as MTN, in hosting services in the area of music application and we have worked with the Nigerian government in development of its ICT plan.

‘’We have developed many solutions for Nigeria. We have worked with local operators who have optic fibre problems.

“Emerging markets like Nigeria represent great potentials. In many emerging markets; they have defined ICT as part of national strategy and they have highbrow potential markets.

“We are entering an exciting era where everything is connected and intelligent..  This era presents a significant opportunity for emerging countries to shift from resource-dependent economies to innovation-driven sustainable economic growth,’’ he said.

“To benchmark digital economies;huawei published the global connectivity index which stated that countries are increasingly aware that solid  digital infrastructure is a key engine driving sustainable economic growth”, he explained.
