By Ochuko Akuopha, Kwale

UNIDENTIFIED gunmen have kidnapped the Registrar of a Delta State High Court, Pastor Ufuoma around Ogume community, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of the State.

The Registrar, who is also a pastor in one of the Pentecostal churches, it was gathered, was returning from Obiaruku to Kwale where he resides, when he was abducted at about 5:30 pm on Thursday.

A security source said the Registrar was driving in his vehicle with a worker of a Customary Court, when they were intercepted by the gun trotting hoodlums.

He said the Customary Court worker identified as Mr. Okoro escaped into the bush while the Registrar who was only recently transferred from the High Court in Kwale, was held hostage by the kidnappers.

“Mr. Okoro put a call across to the police in the Abbi division with his mobile phone but before the police arrived at the scene, the kidnappers have taken the Registrar away to an unknown destination,” the source said.

Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer of the State police command, Mr. Andrew Aniamaka were abortive as calls put across to him were not answered.
