BENIN—ACTING President, Yemi Osinbajo, has lamented that the failure of the nation’s criminal justice system to punish those involved in religious killings has led to increased cases of  killings of innocent Nigerians by those he described as maniacs.

Defending the All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government in the religious killings in Southern Kaduna and other areas, Osinbajo regretted that finding solutions to religious killings has eluded previous governments in the country, but expressed optimism that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration will find a lasting solution to it.

He spoke at the 14th National Biannual conference of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, in Benin, Edo State, which has as topic Our greatest enemy is hate.

Governor Godwin Obaseki of the state, who spoke at the event, said “I wish to see a Nigeria where Muslims and Christians live together in peace and unity.”
