NYSC DG expresses concern of night journeys by corps members

YenagoaDirector-General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier General Suleiman Kazaure, has expressed concern over increased authorized movement and night journeys  by corps members, lamenting that some cases of deaths and grave bodily injuries have been recorded due to cases of indiscipline by corps members.

Kazaure, who spoke, yesterday, in Kaiama, Kolokuma Opokuma Local Government, Bayelsa State, while addressing 2016 Batch B Stream II corps members, undergoing orientation course programme, urged corps members to be security conscious, avoid unauthorized journeys and late night travels.

Represented by Director, Procurement, Mr. Yakubu Jok, the NYSC Director General urged corps members to be patriotic and disciplined.

He said:  “Very soon the current crop of leaders will phase out. You will be the one to take over from us and the leadership of this country will be in your hands.

“The NYSC programme is designed to prepare you for the leadership and future of this country and to make you better citizens.

“I, therefore, urge you to uphold the tenets of discipline, patriotism and integrity. Shun all acts of indiscipline and respect constituted authority.”
