WARRI — Women from the 19 wards in Warri South Local Government Area of  Delta State, yesterday  marched through Ajamimogha, Okere Market Square, Okere Road, Warri-Sapele Road, Warri Garage, McDermott Road, Iyara, Cemetery Road, Igbudu and terminated at Market Road, calling on a former Chief Whip of Warri South Legislative Arm, Griftson Omatsuli, to contest the chairmanship seat in the next council poll in the state.

The women, led by Funmi Okimiji, displayed placards in his support,  just as commercial tricycle operators in Warri, on the auspices of Great Riders’ Association, Okere and Ugbuwangue units stepped up their advocacy campaign.

The tricycle operators who rode to the New World City, Ugbuwangue, home of Omatsuli, carried placards also.

Speaking to newsmen on behalf of the women, Okimiji promised that they will continue to “rally for the Warri South chairmanship hopeful, Omatsuli until he wins at the council poll.”
