The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Suleiman Kazaure, on Sunday urged corps members to be vigilant and security conscious wherever they were.

Kazaure gave the advice in Dutse while addressing 2016 Batch B Stream 2 corps members deployed to Jigawa.

He explained that with security challenge being experienced in some parts of the country, there was need for them to be careful and not to move around carelessly.

“Always move in groups with identities as corps members wherever you are going to within communities you are posted to.

“Also try to make use of the security tips given to you and call any distress centre or any security number at your disposal whenever you are trapped in any crisis situation’’, he said.

The D-G also warned corps members to avoid unnecessary journeys and always seek permission when such traveling was unavoidable.

Kazaure advised them to be law abiding and respect traditions and culture of people or communities they may be posted to for their primary assignment.

He commended Jigawa government for building a befitting NYSC Orientation camp in Dutse.

State Coordinator of NYSC, Mr. Michael Amolo said the Yakubu Gowon Camp in Dutse needed to be expanded to accommodate more corps members and camp officials.
