By Laju Iren

HEAD of Corporate Marketing, LG Electronics West Africa operations, Mr. Rajesh Agnihotri has said that his company is ready to set the trend in 2017.

He told Glamtech in a recent release: “For LG ,the year is fully loaded with great products that will be trendsetting and perfect for smart homes, which will further shape the year changing the narrative of technological innovation. Indeed, 2017 is a promising year for us, as we intend to upscale existing products and also introduce newer ones that will meet the needs of our consumers”.

Internet of Things is where everyday items get chips or sensors, and apps join the internet from cars to toothbrush. This completely shows that apps which control IoT devices will also make use of machine learning. “So in 2017 consumers should look out for devices that will communicate and help each other make decisions,” said the LG West Africa boss.

LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition features the circular display, stylish appearance and LTE connectivity of previous models while also adding a number of new features to help it stand out in a competitive market. While wearables are yet to find their niche and explode in popularity the way smartphones have,  LG believes that the  progress it has made with its smart watches demonstrates just how bright the future is for these devices. With a wide variety of smartwatches available from high-end luxury timepieces to activity trackers, 2017 might just be the year for wearables.

If that happens, then LG will have a lot to smile about in the new year. Its series of smartwatches and TONE INFINIUM seem to be doing not too badly in their respective markets. Combining smart usability with interactive, user-friendly features, LG says its wearables have helped consumers become familiar with the most exciting technology on the planet. The company’s consistent strong performance in the market has provided great insights into the path it will take with other wearable products to increase market share. As the wearable market continues to evolve consumers are encourage to look out for other products that would emulate the trends.
