Lagos—A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has dismissed a six-court charge, bordering on forgery of trade mark, pressed against three businessmen by the police.

The businessmen are Nduka Nwaizu, Benjamin Nwaizu and Chukwudi Orji, were set free by the court on ground that there was no evidence linking them to the offences.

The trio who were alleged to have forged trade mark of Dorco shaving stick, however denied the offences, rather claimed that they are the original manufacturer of the shaving stick, which was imitated by the complainant, Obiora Obiwuru.

The offence pressed against them is punishable under Section 3 (1) (C) of the Merchandise marks Act, Cap M 10 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

Justice Buba, who set them free based on the no case submission canvassed by their lawyers held that there was no concrete evidence to link them with the offences brought against them.

Discharging and acquitting them, the court agreed in totality with all the argument of the defendants.
