A former member of the Nigeria Tennis Federation, Chief Ben Ezeibe has challenged tennis legend, Nduka Odizor to contribute his quota to the development of Nigerian tennis.

Chief Ezeibe, speaking while welcoming tennis legend, Nduka Odizor, who paid a courtesy visit to former Vice-President of Nigeria, Dr. Alex Ekwueme at his Independence layout residence, Enugu said he was saddened by the declining performances of Nigerian players in tennis tournaments.

Ezeibe, a former chairman of the Anambra Tennis Association said it would take concerted effort to reverse the slip into oblivion.

“We must all join hands together to make our tennis players competitive again. It will take serious hard work and a lot of professional guidance, which people like myself can offer”, said Ezeibe.

Odizor was in Enugu to thank Dr Ekwueme for all the support and motivation he received from the former Vice president that inspired him to break through professional tennis high ranking and won many Davis Cup tournaments for Nigeria.

Ezeibe used the opportunity to plead with Odizor to organize a tennis summit and articulate a dynamic tennis programme and policy that will deliver our tennis youngsters back to Association of Tennis Professional (ATP TOUR) competitive form.
