ABA—A housewife, Mrs. Eucharia Okafor, has cried out to the Abia State Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade, over the disappearance of her husband, Sunday Okafor, since October 17.

Narrating her ordeal to Vanguard in Aba, accompanied by Innocent Nwokocha, Coordinator of a human rights group, Initiative for Developmental Advocacy and Leadership in Nigeria, Eucharia said her husband had not returned since he was invited by his friend, one Ekene Ifediora, for a job at Ishiagu, Ebonyi State.

Okafor’s younger brother, Amobi, alleged that Ifediora had failed to make efforts to trace the whereabouts of his brother and called on police to rescue him, wherever he was being held.

However, Ifediora, who spoke at a town union meeting with Okafor’s kinsmen from Imeziuwa community in Ezeagu council of Enugu State, denied knowledge of the whereabouts of his friend.

He claimed to have assigned Okafor and his mate to deliver chippings at Elele, Rivers State, and had not heard from him since.
