UYO—Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has called on the Federal Government to expedite action on the development of power infrastructure in the country to enhance the distribution of electricity to the citizenry.

He spoke when the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, called on him at Government House, Uyo.

The governor said the Independent Power Plant at Ikot Abasi had generated sufficient power so far and was awaiting evacuation by the distribution companies, expressed delight at the assurances given by the minister that the Federal Government was working out modalities for the reimbursement of funds expended on federal assets.
