Gombe State Christian Welfare Board has told the Christian community in the state to stop waiting on government to pay for their pilgrimage to Israel.

Gov. Dakwambo of Gombe State
Mrs. Afiniki Fatikah, Secretary of the Board, made the call in Gombe, telling Christians to be conscious of the fact that the exercise was a worship and appreciation to God for His provisions and should, therefore, be more cooperative in paying for their pilgrimage to Israel, instead of always relying on government to do it for them.
She said: “The Christian community should not rely on government alone for sponsorship. We should also pay because we have everything. Whatever you have, it is God that gave it to you. So we should come and pay so that we can perform pilgrimage to the Holy Land.”
She said of the 1,500 slots allocated to Gombe State by Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission, NCPC, only 238 had prepared for the journey.
