OLEH—A group, Global Peace Development, is partnering the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, and the Delta State Government to address issues undermining development in six local government areas, LGAs, of Oleh, Irri, Ewu, Otu-Jeremi, Iteregbi, Ekpan, Omadino, Ubeji, Amai, Umuebu, Ebu and Ugbolu communities in Delta State.
To achieve this, a two-day workshop on conflict resolution and the culture of peace in the state, was organized by the partners.
The intervention is the third phase which began with a study on the conflict dynamics aligned to the Medium Term Collaborative Framework between the UNDP and Delta State Government for the period of 2014-2017 and Annual Work Plans developed for each of the areas of collaboration.
The study, conducted in Isoko South, Ughelli South, Uvwie, Warri-South, Ukwuani and Oshimili North LGAs culminated in the two-day conflict resolution and culture of peace workshop aimed at developing a common understanding of conflict dynamics and trends.
