Presenting the items yesterday in Maiduguri, the Zonal Manager of the bank, Alhaji Abba Gana Hassan, said the donations of building of materials was to complement the state government’s efforts at rebuilding destroyed communities and resettling IDPs still living in camps.

He said: “The monumental destruction of lives and properties by Boko Haram is of serious concern to both Borno State government and the bank.

“We find it necessary to complement the efforts of the state government in rebuilding the destroyed communities, so that the internally-displaced persons, IDPs, could return to their ancestral homes.”

Governor Kashim Shettima thanked the bank, saying the donation would complement efforts of the Ministry of Recons-truction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement, in rebuilding all the affected communities in 20 council areas of the state.
