WARRI—WORRIED by reported attacks on crude oil and gas lines by militants as well as renewed threats to launch more attacks, the Chairman of Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, George Ekpemupolo, has called on people of the local government area and Delta State in general to join hands with the Federal Government to stop pipeline vandalism and illegal oil bunkering.
Ekpemupolo, who gave the advice after similar calls in the past, noted that apart from the apparent negative impact pipeline vandalism and crude oil theft had on the economy of the country, the activities of the vandals posed environmental and security threat to the lives and properties of the host communities.
