Don’t link Azazi’s house to criminal hideout —IMG

By Tare Youdeowei

Ijaw Motoring Group, IMG, has described a newspaper report linking late General Azazi’s Lagos residence to a criminal hideout as wicked and unacceptable.

In a statement by Comrade Joseph Evah, the Ijaw group urged the public to disregard the report quoting the comment of a task force chairman adding that the building within few meters from the official residence of the current Chief of Defence Staff and other retired security chiefs cannot be turned to prostitutes’ haven.

He said: “We visited the building after the misleading report intended to embarrass the family of the late four-star general. As we speak, the building is guarded by the army based on military tradition because General Azazi was a former Chief of Army Staff.

Some evil people don’t want the late NSA to rest in peace. The building we are talking about is only five minutes walking distance to one of the oldest police stations in Nigeria, so how can a civilian task force carry out a security duty there?”

The Niger Delta leader advised the press to desist from encouraging evil blackmail aimed at embarrassing the late National Security Adviser who served the nation with all his strength.
