ABUJA – No fewer than nine persons were killed and 24 injured Saturday in in an explosion that occured in two spots in Maiduguri, Borno state.

Spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA, Sani Datti in a message confirming the incident said one of the explosions occured at the entrance to Bakassi IDPs and the second at NNPC station along Damboa road.

“The agency rescue team are already at the scenes evacuating victims.

“Nine (9)persons lost their lives with twenty four (24) persons injured and evacuated to various Hospitals from the two scenes of explosions in Maiduguri this early morning”, he said.
