Oxfam 11 million Euros intervention to fight food insecurity in the North

Oxfam has commenced the implementation of an 11 million Euros intervention fund to build and enhance food security in the North.

Oxfam Head of Programs in Nigeria, Constant Tchona, made this known at the 2016 Female Food Hero, ‘Ogbonge Woman’ awards, organized in Makurdi by Oxfam in collaboration with the Nigerian Association of Women in Agriculture, NAWIA, and Benue State government.

He said the intervention, which would be implemented for four years under the Pro Resilience Action, PROACT, programme of Oxfam, is being co-funded by the European Union and would be executed in Adamawa and Kebbi states
Tchona said the project “will build the food security, nutrition, and resilience of over 35,000 vulnerable households in disaster and conflict affected communities”.
