The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has applauded the Police for the rescue of students and teachers that were kidnapped at Igbonla Model College, Epe Lagos.

In a statement by NANS President, Comrade Chinonso Obasi on Thursday, he urged the Federal Government to beef up the security apparatus in all the schools in the country so as to prevent such occurrence in the future.

The statement read: “An apt and timely efforts of men of the Nigerian Police Force in rescuing the Nigerians students and their teachers that were kidnapped at Igbonla Model College, Epe Lagos worth to be generally applauded.

“The students and their teachers that were abducted by unknown gunmen last week later regained freedom in the early hours of Tuesday 11th, October 2016. These students and their teachers after emancipation were reunited with their lovely families.

“Nigerian Students sincerely appreciate everybody that has contributed to this success, most especially, the men of the Nigerian police force for according maximum respect to the plight of Nigerian Students.

“We thereby urge the Federal Government to beef up the security apparatus in order to prevent such occurrence in the future.”
