Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, says adequate security has been put in place to ensure peaceful celebration of Eid-el- Kabir.

Consequently, the state Police Command, yesterday, carried out an exercise to warn criminals to stay away from the state  during and after the Sallah celebration..

The exercise, done in collaboration with the OP MESA of the Nigerian Army ,witnessed intensified patrol round the 14 area commands of Lagos, particularly crime prone areas.

Senior police officers were not left out in the exercise.

A 24-hour patrol, according to the command’s boss,  would be carried out by policemen during and after the Sallah.

Owoseni explained that the exercise was, among other things, aimed at assuring Lagosians that the command was on top of its constitutional responsibility of ensuring that they slept with their two eyes closed.
