A short social media drama played out on Saturday, following the technical closure of the verified Twitter handle of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), @Pdpnigeria, over infighting within the party.

Reacting to the incidence, social media critics have lashed out at the party for closing its own verified Twitter page, @pdpnigeria, which has about 188,000 followers to settle for its new counterpart, @officialpdpnig, which only has about 2000 followers.

Recall that the the PDP Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi, recently, waded into the controversies and infighting militating against the new media arm of the party.
