DELTANS from all walks of life Friday, paid more tributes to the late foremost business mogul, Chief Michael Ibru with many describing him as one of the most illustrious technocrats the nation ever produced.

A former governor of Deltalta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Monday Igbuya; the Erhi of Okpe Kingdom, Chief Charles Obule; Director of Asaba International Airport, Chief Felix Anirah; a former House of Representatives member, Mr Austin Eyimedejor; Commissioner for Science, Mrs. Joyce Overah, member of the state House of Assembly,Mr. Michael Diden; Chairman, Warri North Local government Council, Mr Francis Eyituoyor-Maku and former Sapele Council Chairman, Mr Godwin Atose were among those, who eulogised him.

Others were Chairman of Sapele Local Government, Mr. Ejaife Odebala; Itsekiri Youth Leader, Mr Omolubi Newuwumi; Chief Joe Ejigba; Mr. Anthony Amitaye and Special Adviser to the state governor on Political Matters, Mr Ladu Lawrence; Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party in Sapele Local Government Area, Dr. David Oghenekevwe and Commissioner for Environment, Mr. John Nani.

Uduaghan said: “Chief Michael Ibru was a great man who left an indelible footprint in the nation’s economic firmament. He was a humble, diligent and easy going achiever who contributed in different fields, including commerce, hospitality and education and he would not be forgotten easily by all.”

On his part, Igbuya said: ‘’Olorogun Michael Ibru was a man of peace, honour, fame and a father worthy of emulation. He strove from the base to the top echelon of the Nigerian commerce and industry and his contribution to peace will remain indelible in the nation’s history. He was indeed a statesman.”

On his part, Obule said:”The late Chief Michael Ibru was a great mentor of many Nigerians and he was a great achiever who would be remembered for a long time in the history of Urhobo land and the nation at large.”

Similarly, the Ugo of Okpe kingdom, Chief Paulinus Akpeki said: “A great iroko in Nigeria has fallen. He was a great man. He was a peace loving man. He attained excellence in various fields of human endeavours. May his soul rest in peace.”
