ABUJA—Chairman, Technical Audit Committee on projects of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Engr. Yerima Bulama, has called on the Federal Government to take steps to complete all abandoned projects spread across the Niger Delta region for the benefit of the people.

Bulama, who spoke in an interview with Vanguard in Abuja, said that the government should make all efforts to ensure that people of the region attain a better standard of living.

Bulama, also, charged the Federal Government to make efforts to recover all money collected on projects not executed, adding, “Of course, those who have collected money and have not done the job must make refunds.”

The committee recently submitted report of its findings on projects awarded by Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs since 2009 to the Minister of Niger Delta affairs, Pastor Uguru Usani in Abuja.

According to Bulama, “A lot of money had been spent on these projects but up till now, they are not providing any useful service to Nigerians.

“So, what the present change government should do is to complete these projects and make them functional so that Nigerians will benefit from same, especially the people in the Niger Delta region where there is a lot of restiveness.”
