Once upon a time Henry Ford dreamt of building an engine with the entire eight cylinders cast in one block known as V-8 which had never existed before. Consequently, he summoned his engineers and instructed them to produce a design for such an engine. The engineers gave the ruling that it was impossible to create a V-8 engine. Ford said, “Produce it anywhere.”

“But,” they replied, “It’s impossible.” “Go to work,” Ford commanded, “and stay on the job until you succeed, no matter how much time is required.” 12 months elapsed but there was no success, it seemed as if the harder they tried the more it seemed impossible. At the end of one year Ford checked with the engineers and he was informed that they were not successful in creating the V-8 engine. Ford responded, “Keep working, I want it and I’ll have it” Guess what? The “impossibility” bowed and gave way to the possibility thinking. The famous Ford V-8 was created which was the most successful car as at the time and became a pacesetter in so much that it took years for his nearest competitor to catch up.

Creativity triumphs when possibility thinking is unleashed. Possibility thinkers know no fear of failure; they are risk-takers-they see beyond logical reason into perceptive instinct. Risk-takers are possibility-gainers. Possibility thinkers are record breakers; they recognize no limitations. They consistently enlarge their vision into the invisible that births the visible.

What is your major goal that when accomplished will make a remarkable difference in your life and in the lives of others? Enlarge the goal; place no limit on the goal. However, make it a practical idea and a pace-setting idea. Let the goal be big enough to inspire you to excellence. Dream expansively; think creatively; work extensively; love deeply and you will accomplish massively.

Blow the limit off your mind by focusing on what’s right rather than focusing on what’s wrong or the obstacles. Write out all the reasons why this will work out. CAUTION: Be cautious of the experts. In the story earlier narrated the engineers working for Henry Ford were all experts and they told Ford all the reasons and facts surrounding the impossibility of creating a V-8 engine. However, Ford was intelligently “ignorant” and chose possibility thinking. That proves that the right mental attitude is more important than facts.

Be a possibility-seeker. Look for the positive even in a negative situation. Look for the good even in the bad cases. Look for the best even in the worst circumstances. Become a possibility-finder.

Rise above your normal; live above your comfort zone; rise above the status quo and you will elevate the quality of life you create for yourself and others.
