NDDC: Groups hail FG over Ifowodo, Adjogbe’s appointments

UGHELLI—As commendations continue to pour in for President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, over the constitution of  the board of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, various groups in the Urhobo nation, yesterday, stated that the appointment of their illustrious son, Samuel Adjogbe as Executive Director Projects and his Isoko brother, Mr. Ogaga Ifowodo as Commissioner were square pegs in square holes.

In a communiqué by Mr. Dakpos Damijo and Mr Anthony AKponah, Chairman and Secretary of Urhobo Political Emancipation Movement, UPEM;  Olorogun Daddy Osimini, Chairman, Udu Steel Producing Host Community and Mr. William Saiki, Chairman, Concerned Udu Indigenes for Development respectively in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, noted that they had observed with admiration the steady political and economic transformation of President Buhari over the years and not surprised at the historic feat encased in NDDC board’s appointment.

They said, “Adjogbe is a worthy, qualified, detribalized, proper technocrat and emancipator and a true humanitarian, who we believe will join President Buhari to transform the entire Niger Delta region in no distant time.

“Our thanks to the Federal Government has also become very necessary as a letter of reminder to this present administration that the Urhobo nation is the fourth largest ethnic nationality in Nigeria with abundant mineral and human capital resources that has contributed 17.5 percent to the Nigerian economy; therefore, we plead that more appointments should come to Urhobos in other to wipe out the shame of embarrassment that past federal administration levied against the Urhobo nation.”

While thanking Delta State APC leaders, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor,  Halims Agoda, APC, Delta State and Urhobo monarchs for their contributions in the present and further federal appointments, the trio groups however, prayed God to grant Adjogbe and Ifowodo wisdom and good health to carry out their assignments on the board of the NDDC to the admiration of all.
