Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State
The people of Perebiri quarters in Ogbe-Ijoh, Warri Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government area of Delta state have sent a petition to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, copying the Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Attorney General of the state, Inspector General of Police, and other security agencies, following a rumour making rounds that the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro has perfected all plans to perform the presentation of Staff of Office to Mr Couple Mackson Oromoni tomorrow (Friday) at 1.pm.

The petition signed by Chief Alfred Yola and Sele Banni on behalf of Perebiri Quarters, the people said the Deputy Governor as a lawyer, should not play with the laws of the land, noting that the matter is before the state High Court II Warri and that it came up July 20, 2016 and was made known during the State Executive Council meeting in which the Deputy Governor presided.
The statement revealed that a copy of the petition through their Counsel, Barr. E. L. Umuze had been presented to the Deputy Governor, Attorney General of the state, but he not minding possible contempt of court has perfected plans to present the staff of office despite the court case.
“We therefore appeal to Governor Okowa to please call his Deputy, Kingsley Otuaro to order to stop forthwith his plan in order to avoid bridge of the peace in the state,” the statement added.
