As preparations for the 20th Nigeria Cup gathers momentum, Chairman of the organizing committee, Bayo Alli has said that this year’s edition will be a special one even as he appealed to well meaning Nigerians, members of Ikoyi club and especially corporate organizations for support.
Speaking in a chat with newsmen during the week, Alli said the appeal became necessary so as to enable the organizers raise needed fund to execute the programmes already earmarked for the event.
While saying this year’s edition will be unique, he added that the organizing committee has promised value for all members of the club, sponsors and corporate Nigeria. “A Nigerianized Nigeria Cup is what we will see come October 1st”, he said.
“This year’s Nigeria Cup is going to be different in many ways; if you look at the programmes we are working on. This year’s edition will be for all Nigerians, it will be used to showcase what made us Nigerians, in terms of the fashion, food, art and every other area we will showcase our uniqueness”. Alli said.
2016 Nigeria Cup, the organising committee boss explained further, will involve professional golfers who will compete in a full professional and amateur event. The Pro-Am, he said, will involve single handicap players.
