Akure—CHAIRMAN of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Governors Forum, Dr Olusegun Mimiko yesterday expressed worries over indiscipline within the party which has been responsible for incessant legal suits in the courts.

Mimiko spoke in Akure during the inaugural meeting of the South West Zone  of the party.

He lamented what he described as the “high-level of indiscipline in the party that culminated into series of leadership crises at the national level and challenges that also have overbearing effects in some states”.

“There is no question about the fact that recent event within our party can challenge anybody no matter how strong-hearted you are. Recent event in our party  can set people thinking whether the party really jinxed.

“One of those weaknesses is this demonic propensities to rush to the court for issues that can be settled within. I think the level of indiscipline in PDP is the number one challenge we have.

“As divisive as APC is, inspite of all the different tendencies working themselves out in APC, I have not heard of their cases in court, but PDP has endless cases in court. Indiscipline is the demon we must exorcise from PDP if this party must progress.”

Chairman of the party in the South West, Dr Eddy Olafeso spoke in the same vein, saying that indiscipline needed to be be exorcised in the interest of the party and its members.

Dr Olafeso preached unity in the party, adding that; “In unity the party will surmount all problems including anything that is cancerous.”
