Practise lessons of Ramadan, lawmaker tells Muslims

The Deputy Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Friday Osanebi, has urged Muslims in the state to portray Islam in a positive light through the spirit of tolerance and commitment to peaceful coexistence in their everyday conducts, even after the Ramadan celebration.

Osanebi, in his goodwill Sallah message, noted that the lessons of the holy month should be taken beyond the celebration, advising Muslims to continue to support the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, especially for the measures taken to ensure public funds meant for welfare are used judiciously, irrespec-tive of the religious or political leanings of beneficiaries.

He said self-discipline and love for fellow humans, which is one of the important virtues of the Ramadan fasting period, should not “desert our hearts because the event has come to an end.”
