Lagos – The Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Prof. Abel Olayinka, on Tuesday urged Nigerian Muslims not to lose sight of the lessons of Ramadan which is fulfillment of Allah’s injunctions.

Olayinka’s Eid-el-Fitri message is contained in a statement in Lagos by Mr Olatunji Oladejo, Director of Public Communications Unit of the university.

The statement said the vice-chancellor, urged Muslims to use the Ramadan to promote harmony, peace and love across religions, tribes and nations.

It said that Olayinka commended Muslims in the university community for their contributions to the sustainable development of the premier institution.

The statement also commended them for maintaining peace and sustaining peaceful co-existence with their neighbours as well as people of other religious persuasions.

“Nigeria has a lot to offer the world with its enormous human and material resources if we decide to relate with one another with compassion, selflessness and sincerity to harness our full potential.’’

It congratulated Nigerian Muslims, especially the University of Ibadan Muslim community on the successful completion of this year’s rigorous thirty-day of prayers, self-denial and charity.
