PORT HACROURT— Ikwerre Citizens for Democratic Movement, ICDM, yesterday, called on the Rivers State Government to help the over 16 citizens of the state who were shortlisted for the Nigerian Airforce training that will commence on the July 8 in Kaduna.
ICDM, said that the call was for the state government to show concern to the plights of the candidates who were meant to report to camp in Kaduna.
The 16 youths, all Rivers indigenes were in the batch ‘B’ group of the successful candidates in the Nigerian Airforce recruitment, but are now handicapped due to lack of money to take them to the venue of the exercise.
Speaking, one of the candidates, Mr. Chinemanum Ozuma, disclosed that most of the candidates came from poor family and had no money to buy some of the items need for the training.
Ozuma noted that some of the candidates had resorted to begging after the state government allegedly told them that there was no money to assist them.
