Ilorin – The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, under the leadership of its President General and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has directed Muslims across the country to be on the look out for crescent (new moon) of Shawwal on Monday,July 4th.

This is contained in ‪ a statement issued in Ilorin on Sunday by the Secretary General of the NSCIA, Professor Is-shaq Oloyede.

The statement noted that if the crescent is sighted by experts, the Sultan would declare Tuesday as the first day of Shawwal, and eid-el-fitri day.‬
