Ize-Iyamu

NINE of the 11 governorship APC aspirants who lost out to Godwin Obaseki in last Saturday’s primary yesterday declared that the emergence of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the PDP candidate has set the victory tone for the APC candidate.
The nine excluding Dr. Chris Ogienwonyi and Kenneth Imasuagbon spoke at a press conference in Benin where they also urged Ogienwonyi and Imasuagbon to drop their protest against the outcome of the result.
Gen. Charles Airhiavbere addressed the press on behalf of the nine losers said: “the outcome of the PDP primaries with the emergence of Pastor Ize-Iyamu, the PDP is dead on arrival.
We will leave it at that level until we get to the field. Victory for APC on the 10th of September is a task that must be done. On the condemnation of the APC primaries by Dr Ogienwonyi and Imasuagbon, Airhiavbere stated that “when we went to Abuja, the twelve of us, we signed an agreement that whoever wins the primaries we all will support him. And Godwin Obaseki has won, so that agreement remains.
“A winner has emerged out of the twelve of us so we are all obliged to collapse our structures behind him to ensure victory for APC in the September 9 election.
That is what all of us have signed to do, and that is what we stand for. The delegates have spoken loud and clear, and we should not doubt them.
