Arsenal and Nigerian striker, Alexander Iwobi is still mourning the death of former Eagles captain and coach, Stephen Keshi.
The former Mali and Togo died in the early hours of June 8 in Benin City, Edo State. The 2013 African Cup of Nations winning coach was 54.

Besides winning the AFCON trophy as a player in 1994, Keshi was the first captain of a Nigerian team to a FIFA World Cup, USA 1994, where the Eagles reached the second round and were just three minutes of crossing to the quarter-final stage before
Italy came from a goal down to win 2-1.

Keshi was also the first Nigerian captain of a Dutch side, Anderletch and later joined French side, Strasbourg, which he also captained, winning wild acclaim from the very critical French media.

Although he was not yet born when Keshi captained Eagles at USA 1994, 20 years old Iwobi, who is on the verge of making Nigeria’s Olympic Team to the Rio Games has paid his tribute to the former New Nigeria Bank of Benin centre half.

Writing in his twitter page, Iwobi, who noted that very few individuals have done what Keshi did during his time as player and coach said the late Big Boss will be sorely missed by football fans the world over.
