BRIEFING – Head of Nigerian Delegation and Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele, (2nd left), Deputy Governor, Mrs Sarah Alade (first left), Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Anastasia Daniel-Nwaobia, and a director in the Ministry of Finance, Alhaji Haruna Mohammed, during a press briefing with Nigerian journalists who attended the 2015 Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund in Lima, Peru.
The National Industrial Court has granted a former staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Aisha Aliyu-Sambo, time to amend her originating summons.
Aliyu-Sambo had challenged the termination of her appointment by the CBN for alleged certificate forgery
The Claimant’s Counsel, Mr Wale Balogun, had told the court that his client graduated from the University of Abuja with “Second Class Lower Division’’ against what was discovered from her result.
Balogun said that during verification, the bank discovered that his client had “third Class Lower Division’’ against what she tendered.
He, however, prayed the court for extensions of time to enable him effect amendment on the originating summons before the court.
Defendant Counsel Ekokoiesua Urua did not oppose the application.
The judge, Justice Maureen Esowe, adjourned the matter till Sept. 20 for the hearing.
