Mr. Jain who spoke ahead of this year’s World Yoga Day celebration, which is expected to pave the way for the adoption of Yoga in peoples’ daily life activities, said the event will take place at the Indian High Commission both in Lagos and Abuja, June 19, 2016.

The Indian Cultural Association in partnership with Indian High Commission in Nigeria delights in celebrating both the Yoga Day and varieties of Indian cultural practices with their Nigerian friends.

Describing Yoga as an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India, Jain said that the word ‘yoga’ is derived from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness, and today, it is practiced in various forms around the world and continues to grow in popularity, pointing out that the only way to experience true well-being is to turn inward.

However, the resolution for the World Yoga Day celebration is unique as it brings thought and action together in harmony and by proclaiming June 21 as the International Day of Yoga, has certainly boosted the information and knowledge levels of people about the benefits of Yoga.
