THE South-South Ijaw Youth Leaders Forum, SSIYLF, has said the Ijaw of Edo State fared better under Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, who they described as “detribalized and non-partisan in the governance of the state.”

In a statement by Comrade Wilson Godspower Alatubo, Victor Nelly and Seifegha John, President, Vice Chairman and Secretary respectively, the group said: “Governor Adams Oshiomhole has shot the Ijaw into political limelight and equation of Edo State, thereby making them feel a sense of belonging long denied the Ijaw in the state.”

The group said Oshiomhole was the first to visit the Ijaw communities of Edo State, adding: “Oshiomhole renovated schools, built boreholes, graded roads in the Ijaw areas of Edo State and appointed an Ijaw son of the state, Don Okubo Robert, as Executive Director, Surveillance Security, Edo State”.

Claiming that over 500 Ijaw youths got employment in the present administration, the SSYLF said Governor Oshiomole was a democrat that walked and lived the change mantra.
