ABUJA—The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, yesterday, remanded a cousin to former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Robert Azibaola, in prison custody.

Trial judge, Justice Nnamdi Dimgba, ordered that Azibaola remained at Kuje Prison, Abuja, pending the determination of his application for bail.

The order was made shortly after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, docked Azibaola and his wife, Stella, on a seven-count criminal charge.

They were alleged to have received a $40 million contract from detained former National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd).

Also arraigned over charges bordering on conspiracy, fraud and money laundering, was a company allegedly owned by the couple, Oneplus Holding Limited.

Though the court remanded Azibaola, it allowed his wife to further enjoy the administrative bail earlier granted her by EFCC.

Justice Dimgba fixed Wednesday to hear and rule on the defendants’ bail applications.
