Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ,Chief Sunny Onuesoke  ,has described the activities of herdsmen as a bigger threat to unity of Nigeria  than Boko Haram and Niger-Delta militants.

He said if not that Nigerians  have  really developed,  the stories of alleged herdsmen slaughtering people in the Middle Belt,South-South, South East and South-West regions would have led to civil war which would have threatened the unity of the country

Onuesoke, while speaking to newsmen in Asaba, Delta State after the release of Chief Eddie Onos Sowhre,  a member of the Delta State  Elders and Peace Committee abducted  by suspected herdsmen,   appealed to government to  find solution to the activities of the herdsmen, adding that their activities were becoming more disturbing compared to those of  Boko Haram and Niger  Delta militants.

He argued the herdsmen were deadlier because no one knows their mission, while  Nigerians know the mission of Boko Haram  and the Niger Delta militants .

He said the  language  the herdsmen  understand is to raid  farms , kidnap, rob and kill people.

Describing their claim of looking for grazing land as false, Onuesoke, who said  the Fulanis are peace loving people, however said the herdsmen ravaging the communities were  criminals operating under the disguise of herdsmen.
