Wike

PORT HARCOURT—GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, yesterday, spoke against hostilities in the Niger Delta region, assuring that governors of the region will support the military to achieve peace in the area.
Wike, who spoke in Port Harcourt when he played host to service chiefs led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin, said governors of the region will meet with Vice President Yemi Osibanjo on June 7 to discuss security issues in the region.
Others in the entourage were Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar.
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Olonisakin, said they were in the state to meet with the leadership of Operation Pulo Shield Joint Task Force, JTF, on security challenges in the region.
